The Biotopia
The BIOTOPIA exhibition was the final product of our semester-long research and invention. The main point of it was to create a discussion platform for Czechia.
The whole process started at the beginning of the semester with our manifesto of the Bioworld. Hanging huge posters with slogans, asking seemingly ridiculous questions, about what the future planet should look like. What was amazing to spectate, was the amount of feedback we got, on our previously ''mute'' faculty. Both positive and negative. This was the initial point of discussion- mainly starting as rumors.
For the next step, later in the semester, we installed a big globe representing the Planet with our basic research. Since it was something more visually pleasing, many people started to pay attention to us through social media.
The final step was the final presentation. Initially, it was supposed to be held in CAMP in Prague (Centrum Architektury a Městského Plánování- The Centre of Architecture and Municipal Planning) but it was decided to take place right at the faculty to open our faculty management to the idea of using our school's spaces for more events.
The final exhibition consisted of the main atrium setup with big banners, a physical presentation in the atrium on 320 sheets of A3 papers, and a small atelier installation with The Biotopia movie playing on a loop.
At the end of our hour-long presentation, there was a discussion with the students, Winy Maas, Javier Arpa Fernárdez, the Czech press, Archip and the general public interested in the topic.
