A detailed design solution to the main square.

A look into the multi-leveled solution of the square. Previously fully open sub-level leading to the subway station is now partially covered, making it easier for pedestrians to move through the upper level. The decision to leave it partially open through differently sized holes was made to maintain both physical and visual connection between the two levels.

Budějovická square is the most frequented public square in Prague. With the 3 bus stations, subway station and many office buildings, around 20 000 people commute round the area daily.

Since the socialist era, the square went through a series of questionable changes, leading to a confusing space organization. How to manipulate around the sore topic of socialist architecture in Czechia? Which approach is the best?

Where did the city square get lost? In the task of Budějovická Square reparation, I search for equilibrium in public space. Keywords: accessibility, landmark, and concentration.
